This week we wrapped up the floor and bathroom renovations and I can’t tell you how happy I am to finally say that. The 6 week project was seriously drawn out by the fact that I, well, had a baby, and then hurricane Irma knocked out our power for about a week. It’s safe to say we’ll be taking a break from renos for a while. We’re just gonna enjoy having the house to ourselves and our pretty new bathrooms!
I didn’t have a chance to make a separate post about this bathroom-a very small bathroom connected to our laundry room. Honestly, the bathroom before pictures are so bad I wasn’t sure I wanted to post them. But seeing the before pictures really makes us appreciate what we’ve done with it so I decided to just do it. I just want to preface this by saying, we inherited this mess-we’re not responsible for it.
We had a lot of fun putting the nursery together because it was really the first room in the house that we got to decorate after moving in. Plus, BABY STUFF. No joke, when we got the crib put together RIcky and I both sat and looked at it for a good 10 minutes and awed about the fact that there was really going to be a baby in there. I still sometimes have a hard time wrapping my head around it, even with his little feet constantly poking at my belly.
Like I’ve mentioned a million times, we’re replacing the floors in the house so I wanted to post this before we had to take it apart for renos next week, so you get to see it with those fresh parquet floors!
Spoiler alert: that’s not our bathroom. Now that we’re finally making some headway with renovations, I thought I’d share some before pictures of our main bathroom and inspiration pictures for what we’re gonna do with it.
So, the house we live in was built in 1965 and it hasn’t changed much since. All bathrooms and kitchen are original, and, while I think it’s very cool to preserve stuff, I also think it needs to be functional. And our main bathroom is just not functional. We call it the Blue Bathroom because literally everything has a touch of blue.
